Frequently Asked Questions

At Glosz, your working comfort comes first. That is why we have listed the most important questions and answers for you.

If your e-file always stays in the exact same spot on your manicure table and you know you are likely to forget to recharge a battery, a corded unit is your best choice! It plugs directly into the power outlet, meaning it is always ready to go and you will never run out of battery mid-appointment.

A foot pedal is designed for hands-free operation, allowing you to keep both hands focused entirely on your client's hand. There are two types of pedals:

- ON/OFF pedal: Simply starts or stops the handpiece at your pre-set speed using your foot.

- Variable speed pedal: Adjusts the RPM dynamically depending on how hard you press down.

Important: Make sure to switch the control unit setting to 'F' (Foot) instead of 'H' (Hand), otherwise the pedal won't respond. A pedal port is commonly included as a standard feature on stationary e-files.

You can easily adjust the speed using the control dial on the main unit:

- 5,000 – 10,000 RPM: Ideal for delicate cuticle work (E-manicure) and prepping the natural nail.

- 10,000 – 20,000 RPM: Designed for shaping product overlays and refining enhancements.

- 20,000 – 35,000 RPM: Perfect for fast, effortless removal of acrylic, builder gel, or hard gel.

Since a stationary e-file remains on your desk permanently, it is exposed to fine filing dust daily. You can easily protect your equipment with two essential solutions:

1. Use our special dust caps: We offer convenient dust caps that slide right over the shank of your drill bit. These prevent filing dust from entering the handpiece directly, significantly extending the lifespan of the internal bearings.

2. Invest in a high-quality dust collector: A powerful dust extraction system catches dust right at the source before it can settle over your workspace and equipment. This is essential not only for preserving your devices, but also for your own health and your client's well-being (Health).

Yes, absolutely! For dry pedicures, you can essentially use any e-file. However, keep in mind that some devices offer significantly more power and torque than others. The right model for you depends heavily on whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional:

- Are you a beginner? A base model with a lighter, steady power output is perfectly suited for learning and performing lighter foot care treatments.

- Are you a professional? We strongly recommend a high-power machine with high torque. This allows you to work through calluses and thick nails quickly and effortlessly without the motor stalling or losing speed under pressure.
